Day trip to Ourika Valley from Marrakech

Day trip to Ourika Valley: This tour takes you to a lush green valley located approximately 60 km from Marrakech, offering a delightful introduction to the majestic Atlas Mountains. The route from Marrakech to the valley is adorned with gardens, palm trees, fruit trees, small villages, and traditional Berber houses. Within the valley, the Ourika River descends from the High Atlas, passing through Asguine, Aghbalou, Oulmes, and finally reaching the village of Setti Fatma, renowned for its seven waterfalls.

Ranked among the most beautiful valleys of Morocco, with its seven waterfalls, Ourika Valley is situated about thirty kilometers south of Marrakech, just an hour’s drive away. En route to the High Atlas, we will traverse the plain of Haouz, following the flow of the Ourika River, which boasts abundant water throughout the year.

During this excursion:
  • We will visit a Berber family who graciously opens their home, offering insights into the Berber way of life, traditions, and local culture. Additionally, we will make several stops to capture photographs of the picturesque Berber villages nestled in the foothills of the High Atlas.

  • Continuing through the valley, we will pause to visit a local Argan oil cooperative managed by women from the community. Our journey culminates at the village of Setti Fatma, perched 1500 meters above sea level, where you will have the opportunity to explore its charming lanes and enjoy its scenic vistas.

  • Upon arrival, we will be greeted by a local guide who will lead us on a guided hike to discover the seven cascades of Setti Fatma. After approximately two hours of hiking, we will return to the village to relish a delectable traditional lunch at a local riverside restaurant.
